Looking at widening my front 8 lug Dana 60 2-3" per side. Wheel spacers from a reputable manufacturer are pricey as all get-out, and dually hubs are about an inch wider per side than I want to go.
Looking for ideas I have overlooked. Any thoughts?

Steel wheels are cheap. What about new wheels with less back spacing.

Oh. good idea, but I guess I should have told everyone that I am running hummer rims and want to keep them.

Well I have an answer that will help a little. Get new inner bearing races. They can space out the hub close to an inch. You will also need to space the caliper bracket.

Inner bearing races? That's a new one on me, cool idea.
What about the seal of the hub on the spindle? Is there enough material to still seal it with the hub out almost an inch?
Also, do you know what the part no. is for that race?

I bought a 35 spline kit for my 60 and it came with new inner races to space the hub out so GM shafts could be run in a Ford 60. Now that I think about it, I think it only spaced the hub out about 1/2" so the wheel seal still lines up. I don't know the part #. I don't know if 1/2" is worth it if you need 2 or 3 though.

While I am not sure how cheap that would be, I would like to keep all 4 wheels the same, and the rear Dana 70 is wider than the front 60, so I only want the front end wider.
Any clue as to how much per wheel it would be to change the centers?

Do the work yourself, and it's fairly cheap... we're getting $50 a center for 8-lug 3/8" plate centers. I think several other guys (66CJDean comes to mind) have also gotten centers custom made for around the same. We did have the center pilot bumped up a bit over the Hummer pilot size so the new centers will (I think) fit most axles, vs. the Hummer centers that only fit some small-center-hole-style hubs.
I haven't tried putting our centers in farther than 3.5" backspacing yet--I'm pretty sure I can press 'em all the way to 5" backspacing, but haven't found anybody that actually wants 5" backspacing yet.
Daniel gets a little more for his, but his include install, so you get whatcha pay for.
Sounds to me like spacers or different bearings are about it for keeping all four the same, keeping the Hummer wheels, and hitting about where you want on width.
