: Helicopter on con=8 month pregnant lady
I was heading out today from the rubicon and was stopped because they had to get a chopper in to fly the woman to a hospital. All I know is that they had her laying down right after the soup bowl and SAR_SAMMY(Mike) had the trail blocked off. The two woman landing the helicopter did one hell of a job landing that thing.
Rollie 08-31-2002, 09:29 PM WOW What was wrong
I think she might have gone into labor prematurely. I'm not sure tho.
SJ410Bark 08-31-2002, 09:36 PM Bumps can cause that type of thing, oooops. Momma should have stayed home.
70~K5 08-31-2002, 09:51 PM What the hell were they thing of?
Chris Geiger 08-31-2002, 10:01 PM When my wife was overdue the doctor said that if the baby did not come by the following day they were going to have to take steps to get him out. As soon as we left the doctors office I took my wife wheeling up in the mountians near our house. She started labor shortly after.
Dan shsss 08-31-2002, 10:01 PM I think that was cutting it to close, I would never take my wife out that far if she was pregant, Its putting her life and the babys life at risk
FULLSIZE 08-31-2002, 10:34 PM ya, what he said. thats just a little bit silly in my book. ;)
SLO_Crawlers 09-01-2002, 01:05 AM We wheeled in on Thrusday and there was a yellow helicopter flyig in and out of Loon lake every thirty minutes or so. I guess he was ruinning supplies or something. It must be expensive. It would be fun though to see the trail from the sky.
landusepbb 09-01-2002, 07:39 AM Missed opportunity to bring that stripper in.:D
pmaddy 09-01-2002, 09:57 AM I want to meet the pregnant lady who wants to be up on the con when she is 8 months along. That is insane. Most women are waddling pretty good at that point.
Course it would be a cool story to say you were born in little sluice?

 I like it.
jslater 09-02-2002, 08:56 AM I talked to her and her husband about an hour and half before this all happened. She walked up to us at the soup bowl and I chuckled saying "you want to have your baby up here?" Her husband laughed and said he was going to name her Rubi Con.
Jason R 09-02-2002, 10:01 AM That would be kinda funny...
Yea I also saw the Jamaicanish chopper flyin in and out. I wanted the Bike he was carrying. :D
Grendel 09-02-2002, 03:35 PM heh... I used to do allot of volunteer work for SAR in New Hampshire. Mostly lake diving.
We got a call that a woman was in labor on top of Mt Washington.
We flew in, I was just in time to "catch" the baby girl...
incontrol 09-02-2002, 04:30 PM From what I understand, she hiked up to soup can and felt she was going into labor. Aparently her doctor gave her the go ahead to do it.
Anyway, after they got her to the hospitol, they found her to be dehidrated. But it sure would have made a good story to be born on the Rubicon.
... stupid is as stupid does.
I bet the helo ride will cost about as much as the kid's delivery.

cmk I can tell you how much it cost to fly from the North Shore Campground at Loon, to UCD Med Center in Sac. My daughter had to make that trip Labor day two years ago.
$11,542......
This woman should not have been anywhere near the Con on "LABOR Day"......
