i know, but the search didn't give me exactly what i wanted......

on the 16v, if i buy the complete trac/kick with it in it, i'd take every wire running from the computer to the engine and tigh them into my harnes, then of all the wires left commin from the computer what has to be hooked up and where do they go........ there is no smog tests here so thats not a consern but i want ti to run right.......

now on the 8v, all the search came up with was ppl swaping on webers, i want to keep the stock carb is i get a carbed trac/kick..... so what wires have to be hooked up on it and do i need its computer too???

thanks alot,
flame away:flipoff2: ........ newbies too:flipoff2: :D

You need to get the chiltons manual.....Trace one wire by one wire and hook it in and combine the two harnesses.......

Or you call brent and have him redo your harness.

LOL yeah get a carbed kick/track and swap in that 1.3 :D get a 8V 1.6 and put on your intake and carb, wala all done.

8V is virtually bolt in. Intake and exhaust bolt on (exhaust is too short vertically) NO wiring except the new fuel pump (2 wires). 16V is a lot more complicated and more $$ but more power. Another plus is that the 8V passes smog as it's visually identicle;)

ok, first, here in canada, vechicals rust out extreamly bad, and what you guys think is bad rust is good condition for us, so things rust out fast cause of the salt on the roads in winter, which means they will sell for cheap, like last week a 89 tracker for 550, then a 90 kick for 700, and so on, i can get cheaper......

rudezuki, look where i live, i can't get to trail tough.......:D...... and what wires will be left after i tigh all the ones from the engine to computer into the harnes??? one for the power i suppose, ignation maybe??? and which others???
thanks alot.....

I am not 100% sure about Cananda but here in the Us the obly carbed Kick was the 89 and it was a 1.3L. But you can run the 1.3L carb on the 1.6L motor. But why not go EFI? The early 89-90 ones are very easy, the gen 2 and pretty easy but require a VSS put in your speedo to work 100%, and the later OBDII (and 16v) ones are much harder, but have way better diags and such. The wiring is not bad to do at all if you have the FSM for the donor rig. I did mine in about 8-10 hours of cutting and hacking wires out of the Geo harness.. Left with about 10 wires to splice into the Samurai, and the rest just plugged back into the motor.

All the wires outta the ECM will go somwhere, I only had one that didin;t and it was the AC idle up wire, and that only goes nowhere cuz I got no AC. The rest are pretty easy to figure out really. Label stuff as you take it apart if you have that luxury or doing the removal yourself you'll be better off.

I have the FSM for the 93 tracker but it only covers the 8v engine let me know if you need anything. I have all the diagrams and stuff on my website too.
