Late 70's waggy drop pitman arm works, too. Summit racing SLF-1104

Ford dropped pitman arm SLF-1109

Will these work on the output shaft of an IFS box too?

Yes.
That's what I'm running. Waggy drop pitman arm on a '95 K2500 Chevy IFS steering box.

Summit racing has them for $65.

Make sure to match the pitman arm length with the knuckle throw.

Skyjacker does make a FA500 pitman arm ... Its not a common used arm , its a 5" to 9" arm and it is a little pricey ... I think there around 180 ... i was able to find one for $130 .
My build is a cummins with a custom frame and need the extra clearance from the crossmember .
That much of a drop could add pre-mature wear on the steering box selector bearing ... i'm running hydo assist so that will help my rig .

Back to the top because im about to do crossover on my k5 with d44 and 4 inc lift. Looking under my truck makes me think i dont need a drop pitman arm since my lift is pretty low. i got a 2wd steering box for a 78 fullsize blazer and im using sky's tall d44 steering arm. Is there a junkyard arm i can get that will work so i dont have to spend the $70+ bucks for a new one at ord or sky??

We have had a lot of luck with the early 80's fullsize wagoneer arm. It has enough drop to clear the bottom of the frame and the same spline count for the sector shaft. $5 from the junkyard. I have a ported and tapped box with one of those arms installed on it. The pittman is already drilled for a 3/4 heim draglink end. I'd let the whole thing go for $150.

Thanks for the offer but all i need is the pitman arm, id have no use for the ported box as i dont see hydro assist in my future anytime soon.

For anyone else watching this thread...in addition to the tapped and ported box I have a brand new never used 8" ram. My wife was going to use these on our 89 K5 on tons, but traded the rig for a crotch rocket (shaking head) :shaking:

The Superlift 1104 arm is pretty common and works well as mentioned previously (SLF-1104).

$70 bucks from summit ... I might end up going with this since I have a feeling that finding a waggy arm in the junkyard might take awhile.

I can't go to a yard without tripping over Waggys. Open your eyes. :D

the ford van arm is very tight to the frame, i think there is only about .125" between the stud nub and my frame.

Let's trade junkyards then .... We don't have shit down here its just a bunch of imports and 90s pick up trucks

Do you have a center to center hole measurement on that arm..As well as the amount of measured drop? That may help me get that last 10* of steering ive lost on my build

Hey discjoki, I'm interested in the box/arm/ram. PM'd you my phone number, give me a call and we'll work something out.

Yes,
Center hole to center hole of the wagoneer arm is 7 inches. It's longer than the IFS arm I took off, but has less drop.

Here's a link to the craigslist ad. I also have a 10" ram for a rockwell if anyone's interested.
