Well, I finally used up the rest of my film and got it developed. Here's how the Samurai flexes on Toyota axles, YJ springs, and 35" MT/R's.

I'll be tubing the front clip to help the tires clear. They rub as is right now. Other than that, I love it. Let me know what you think. ~Steve

Looks good Steve. I am puting together the exact same combo right now. Did you need to do any trimming of the rear fender wells to get clearance in the back with the 35 mtr's?

I had previously cut away a small portion on the rear of the fender well and I'm glad I did. It stuffs just right now. A little bit is necessary in the front of the well also, but not much compared to the rear. ~Steve

I still need to get a new truck and trailer, so no 'wheeling for me quite yet. Hard to find time these days, too, as I only have one day of the week free anymore. Oh well, gotta get money for that new truck somehow. ~Steve

Hrmmm, Is that the funny looking upper and lower mounting passenger side steering arm from all pro? If you use that particular arm, do you use a stock toyota driver side arm? Why not go with the tie rod above the springs? Doesn't seem like it would cost that much more... I ask because im still thinking about how to steer my toys when I get them under it... Positives/negatives VS above the spring steering?

Yes, it is the standard All Pro crossover arm. I went this route due to cost (the arm is only $200) and ease of install. I have heard/seen that you have to move the steering box forward when you do a Hy-steer set-up (tierod above springs) because it will hit the draglink when you articulate the suspension. See www.azrockcrawler.com for examples of this. Yes, you reuse the stock drivers side arm. For me it was just a simpler option. And the new tierod is super beefy, so I don't think I have to worry about bending it on any rocks. ~Steve

Very nice.

We just dropped the Trail tough rear wrangler kit on one of the Zuks in the collection, and I must say that I am damn impressed with the results! The rear spring up front now feel harsh. Best of all, we don't have a bunch of wrap either. The comfort is beyond comparison to anything else we have run under our Zuks. That includes all forms of stock springs, SPOA, CJ, and coils. The Zuk is actually fun to drive again.

I think you made the right choice on the steering. Makes for a nice clean install. And like you said, when you have a nice beefy tierod, why worry about hitting rocks? You can jack up the car on a good tierod.
