: Fasteners, Electrical Terminals, other fun stuff

Hey guys, let me tell you my story... A few months ago I got tired of going to the hardware store every time I needed a bolt...not to mention I was sick of the ass-rape prices they charged... So when I saw a small industrial supply company going out of business, I bought their fastener inventory. Well, I managed to get a complete assortment of everything I wanted for my garage, but wound up with tons (literally!) of extra stuff. I needed to sell it, as boxes had completely taken over my garage. I couldn't even see the buggy I was working on. That's how this got started.

I buy stuff at auctions, store closings, or wherever I can get a good deal on useful stuff. I sort it, weigh it, catalog it, and sell it. The prices are AWESOME. Unless you're buying by the skid, you won't find anything close. Quality is top notch. Selection varies, and the most popular items sell out fast.

Right now I have about 4 tons of grade 8 and grade 5 fasteners in stock, along with nearly 50,000 electrical crimp terminals (more than half with heat-shrink sleeves, ideal for off-road automotive applications).

Full inventory and price lists are on my website. (http://asmc.net)

Respond to this thread or PM/email me if you need an estimate on a smaller order of a few items. When placing an order with many items on it, please download one of the excel worksheets from my website--they calculate pricing and totals automatically.

Please note that all the individual prices on the website and in estimates I give you are calculated by weight. You can order by the pound or by the each, but all orders are billed by weight. I will generally not count out 100 1/4" bolts, but give you enough poundage to make the quantity you order (and usually a bit over). The exception to this are larger items, such as 3/4" bolts. If this doesn't make sense, please contact me and I will clarify.

Examples of pricing:
Grade 8 nuts and bolts: $2/lb
Grade 5 nuts and bolts: $1.50/lb
Electrical crimp connectors: varies, but generally half the 100-pack price that McMaster charges, except you don't need to buy that many from me!

I generally ship using USPS flat rate boxes--70 lbs cost $15 to ship. A lot of stuff can fit in a large flat rate box.

And here is an intro special for PBB members:

All fasteners 7/8" and larger diameter are 50% off....
Grade 8 for $1.00/lb and Grade 5 for 75 cents/lb.

Thanks guys, and email me with any questions! :smokin:

I have updated the fastener prices this morning to be in line with the new Hillman wholesale catalog (which is what I use as my pricing base). This resulted in more uniform pricing on grade 5 and grade 8 hardware (previously the washers cost more per pound than the bolts, now they are all the same at $1.50/lb and $2.00/lb, respectively). Prices on Nylock nuts have also been lowered. New pricing is on the website.

Additionally, I will discount larger fastener orders (50lbs or more) and larger crimp terminal orders (300 pcs or more).

By Chance do you have the JIS bolts and nuts In M8x1.25 N10X1.25 and M12x1.25 in the normal lengths as well as nuts.

These are used on Toyota the M8 have the 12mm hex M10 have the 14mmhex the M12 have a 17mm hex.

The standard metric run a couple sizes bigger as you increase size which I find to be a pain

I doubt it, but I can look. I have a skid of metric stuff from my last buy that I have yet to go through carefully. I do remember all the markings being DIN, however, which I think is the stuff you don't like. I could be mistaken, I am metric impaired. I need to buy a metric thread gauge so I can inventory this stuff. Its on the list of things to :D

I'd just like to say how much I hate you:flipoff2:

I love good hardware, love having it on hand and hate trying to find it at a bunch of different places. The only that's stopped me before from buying way too much was the unit cost.

Well now you've effectively ruined that so I guess I better find a bigger/better way to store hardware. As if I didn't have too little garage space to begin with:laughing:

I'll be enjoying your website for the rest of the afternoon.

Updated fastener list... As it happens with every new buy, popular stuff sells out fast (not that there isn't lots left :flipoff2:)

Here are a couple of shots of the shop where I keep it all.

Sounds good, I am down for a few hundred pounds. I will get my list ready and call later this week. $1 per pound? Grade 8

$1 per pound for grade 8 hardware 7/8" diameter and larger... but if you're going to put together an order of several hundred pounds of other stuff too, I'll see what I can do about discounting the rest of it a bit also :flipoff2:

I am planning to catalog the metric stuff next week (there isn't much). I'll ship to the moon as long as the buyer pays for the shipping.

Quality stuff for cheap guys. I bought a bunch of misc electrical stuff and Alex did a nice job of packaging and sending it out quickly.

I just saw this on this board. I've probably bought $500 worth of fasteners from him, great deal.

WAY cheaper than fastenal, tractor supply, etc. Even including shipping, this g8 is cheaper than local g5.

Alex needs to write a quick guide on how to be a vendor.

I ordered about 70lbs of hardware from him. He suggested and we decided the best way to ship was flatrate usps. After payment, he sorted, packed and had the stuff out the next day (wait til you see the packing and sorting).

It took about 3 weeks to get here which is highly atypical. In that 3 weeks, I got PMs pretty much EVERY single day checking on the order. After a week, he called the post office (knowing full well that they weren't going to be helpful). A few days ago...he went as far as to try to contact his local postmaster. This is without me bugging him at all. There was no need within days of my order, I knew this guy wasn't out to screw me over. He even offered to re-make and ship the whole order on his dime if it fell through, $140.

I ordered a huge assortment (many small quantities of a variety of sizes of bolts, nuts, washers). Each separate type was bagged or boxed and marked with dimensions, diameter, thread pitch and grade.

Thanks man and I know where to go for bulk hardware from now on.

Thanks guys, I do what I can :D

By the way I noticed a couple people from pirate bought stuff through my ebay store. That's fine, but just want you to know that my prices on ebay are about 50% higher than you'll get from me if you contact me directly here...
