: Love my new JK, but miss the old YJ

After owning my 91 YJ for ten years, its life came to a tragic end Sunday, after I was forced off the road on a two lane highway. $6k worth of damage to my daily driver. The seats were perfectly molded to my ace, and all the controls and gauges had been moved to exactily where I wanted them. It was like loosing an old friend.

I bought a new JK, and my one complaint is the shift lever is too short. Anyone know how to attach a longer shift lever, you know, something akin to the perfection that was the YJ shift lever? That lever was the perfect height, with just the right amount of bend in it, and the nob was made for my hand.

On the flip, if anyone near N W Florida wants a jeep to rebuild, or turn into a rock crawling monster, I have a project jeep for sale :(

Sad :( My first Jeep/rockcrawler was a YJ. Its amazing how a vehicle that is so meh and doesn't really have alot going for it out of the box can still make you feel nostalgic. Mine was a beast, I will miss mine too. I know how you feel.

Maybe take the shifter to a shop and have them cut and lengthen and/or heat and bend it for you.
