mitsubishi axle strength? [Archive]

i have a 81 model dodge d50 rear axle laying in my back yard. there is nothing wrong with it,it has 3.90 gears also.it looks compareable to a toy axle. anyone know anything about this axle?

Do a search it has been discussed.

Personally I wouldnt waste you time with any early model axles... I would look for a genII 3.0 axle... 29 spline, 3rd member, 4.88 gears, locker... somewhere around 9"

The 3.5 axle is even beefier. 10???inch ring gear, 3rd member, 32 spine, ratio????, locker.

Mmmmmm beefy.

To bad spare parts are $$$$$.
