Can't be done! :flipoff2:

Headlights, corner lights, grille, hood, lever & handle mech. for hood hold down, a few holes need to be "relocated" for the grille and a lot of patience to get it all lined up.

this is a good post. i am totally partial to the 01-04 tacos, mainly because the way the grill/hood looks...if i had an earlier truck or was building a smash victim, id put all the younger sheetmetal/grill on it for sure

fawk no!!!!:flipoff2:

actually i really looked into this when i had my stock 02 and the 91 truggy...the measurements arent too far off and if youre willing to mount the grill with zip ties(they really work good) and leave the older style headlights, the ony real issue is the area up by the wipers/windshied, which is TOTALLY differnt. if you trimmed the taco hood(fiberglass maybe?) and mounted it with hood pins i think youve got a better chance at making it look good, then attempting to make the door edge of the taco fendersif you can even come close to mounting them on the 90's truck, match the 1991 doors/body/hood line, etc

i know the 1st gen tacos match up basically from one end to the other on the 3rd gens. i was measuring that out one day on my room mates tacoma.

fair common swap for the street crowd, if my memory serves me correctly everything should bolt up and you might have to massage the core support for the headlights ... www.customtacos.com/forum plenty of information there

I did my 95.5, don't know how much different the core support is on the 98-00 models though. Fairly easy, took me about 3-4 hrs by myself.

Went like this

My dad has 2 of the newer models and I feel like I can't see as well when I get in them. I like the way the older style hood stays down. Much easier to see over. My mom has an 08 with the scoop and that thing is even worse.

Mine's a fully functioning dirt scoop................ sucks the dirt from the trial right into the throttle body for added HP! :p

Visibility on mine is a non issue........ or I guess I'm just used to it I guess? I did notice a big difference in visibility after going back to stock fenders over the fiberglass fenders though. :D

What hood scoop is that?

It's a glassworks fiberglass hood.

They are factory aftermarket pieces from a local Crash Parts Supplier. I think I paid $90 for the grille, $120 for the hood. Spent $50 on paint and painted it, and $170 on the headlights and corner lights from Ebay.
