I did a search and found nothing, so here goes. I'm looking at buying a Jeep TJ through a friend from an online insurance auction. The question is, Is there a way to identify the models w/ the D44 rear axle from the vin # or door code? Some of these are over 200 miles away and it would be sweet to know ahead of time. I know the Saraha and the sport offered it as an option but that's it.

Call a Jeep dealer with the vin #'s they will know.
