Edit: Wheelin in AR

i currently live in VA and am coming back to Harrison, AR to visit family.

i plan to bring my tubed out CJ and attend Madness in May at Byrds.

i was curious to see any pics of the trails there. wondering if it is mostly mud/dirt or if there are alot of rocks.

also if any of the locals are planning to attend, i would love to meet/wheel with some good guys.

i do have a friend in Harrison who has a CJ and plans to attend as well.

i will most likely be spliting up the days-one easy and one hard(gots us a new baby!) she will only be 4 months old then.

Thanks in advance!

There are some nice rocky trails on Byrd's property their. You can also get into the mud if like that. We can usually run on the good stuff in about a day when we go there but you could spend 2 days or more there for sure with all the other trails around.

Should be a few thousand ppl there, and they normally give away some nice shit (winches, tires, hi-lifts). The events are for pretty much everybody, from rock ledge hill climbs, to some mud/woods events. Those guys always try to bring good bands, and want everybody to have a good time..

If you really want to have some fun, im sure some guys will be hittin some trails at night that arent in event. :smokin:

Dont forget the

i am up for most anything hard(not quite full tube status, but close)

night wheelin is always fun.

i prefer the rocks over mud,but don't mind gettin dirty.

is that county dry?? i know Boone is,but not sure about others.
i will probably load up with beer from VA(shhh!), but also get some in Memphis or LR

thanks for the info, would love to hear from more of you guys!!

hope to see some of you there!

I cant answer for Harrison, but the area around cass is NOT. Infact when you get off I-40 there's a liquor store right there! I recommend getting some elsewhere as the closer to Byrds you get the more expensive you get. Also the guys that put the event on and Byrds itself dont mind you  in your rig as long as your not driving like a total dipshit. There will be vendors there also for breakfast, etc (was last year anyway).

Nothing huge, but very capable. i built it as a multi-purpose rig. it has 35" SX's, leaf springs in the front, double triangulated 4 link in the rear, stock 258 with HEI, T18 trans, D300(stock) transfer, and 4:30 gears in the 8"toyota diffs. front axle has a superset from Longfield and ARP knuckle studs. rear axle is stock, but just inspected yesterday for twisting. front axle has a lock-right, and rear is welded(broke lock-right), but will get a full spool soon.

anywho...... just given you guys a bit of an idea on what i got, and whether or not i can hang with the locals

Several built crawlers running around Harrison, Dry county with booze 15 miles in every direction. Go see JT he knows everybody and he also has a little Toyota that he is going to wheel someday when it is finished.
Also there are several other places to wheel not so far away: Seymour, MO-Disney, OK-HotSprings, AR-Clayton, OK
