i just installed my new M8000 Warn, and the winch is installed, wired and works correctly, the prob is that while i was winching a buddy out the my CB ground wire started melting and smoking, it ONLY did it while winching,
i never had a prob with the CB before, and i think it's something to do with the ground of the tub and frame....any help? only the ground wire melted, NOT the power wire.
what do i have to do? thanks

How do you have the winch ground wire ran? It must attached directly to the winch motor case as well as the battery ground with no exceptions. Any deviation from this can and will lead to major electrical problems. Also if you are using an Optima battery you should not use the side posts as they can not handle the amp draw.

well i have the main ground going straight from the winch to the batt neg post, but
is the short ground from the solonoid ment to connect to the chassis or the bolt on the bottom of the motor?
cause the bloody instructions contradict them selves, please tell me:confused:
