Hey Chris,
(BTW, you suck you dont have PM's:flipoff2:)
Anyway, I was looking at your setup and am I correct in that on flat ground your bumpstops have only about 2 inches between them? (them being the tube and the poly).
Reason I ask is that I have 4 in. before my tierod will hit my frame and this will not give me much space between my poly and tube, somehting like what I think yours is. Is this a problem? It just looks like way too little space. I assume it wont be a problem cause it will pivot and cause the other side to drop better but I wanted to be sure before I burnt things into place.
thanks a bunch

Tack the fawkers in place and ramp it, unless you are a wannabe and want to duplicate his junk to a TEE... Every rig IS NOT the same....

my rig is really nothing like Chris has ever had. What I am wondering about is if 2-3 inches of uptavel before hitting the bumpstops is to little. It just looks like too little.
the reason why I asked Chris is cause I came across pictues of his setup when i did a search for bump stops and noticed that in a pic it seems like his bumpstops only allow 2-3 inches of up travel.
really anyone can answer the question but I was gonna do it today and wanted a quick answer, Chris was online so I ATTN him.
Im done for the day but if anyone wants to answer let her rip.

I have 3" on the fronts to the bump stops, and it twists up nicely, but like i do with all the rigs I have built, tack it one and see what it does, because if you go off somebody else's measurements it may not be what you need...
What i generally do is run it up my ramp and take measurements for setting up the shocks/bumpstops at the same time then take all into place and check the final setup.

Mine are currently set at 2 1/4" of open gap. On my rig I lowered the engine 3". The bumpstops are currently set to prevent the steering ram from hitting the oil pan. Most bumpstops compress atleast an inch.
Setting the gap at 3" seems to work well for front springs. Any more gap and often the result is the spring settle to the point where there the gap is back to 3".
I would drive the rig on the street some before installing the stops to allow the springs to settle in.
thanks for the advice everyone. I though I was on the money with my measurements but then it just didnt look right so I wanted to be sure. I havent done them yet, I did some other stuff waiting on some answers. Kind of a dumb question but when your working alone and dont have any 4x4 buddies that live near you ya just have to ask to be sure a lot of the time.
thanks
