One of my buddys was out last weekend and a Ranger rolled up on their camp and checked all their vehicle regestrations, crawlers, side by sides, and their bikes. What the fawk is up with that?! Anybody else get rolled up on recently?

Were heading down from Oregon, what do we need to be legal down there. We will have two Quads and two non-street legal crawlers. Both the quads and crawlers currently have Oregon OHV permits. Is that all that is needed like a license plate do they over lap states?

Yes, OHV stickers or plates from any state

Thank you for the info. I was hoping our Oregon OHV permits would be ok.

just make sure you have your paper "registration" with you too. Even if they run the tags and they are current, the "can" cite you for "no proof of registration"... just a fix it ticket, but it's easier to have a piece of paper with you and not hassle it. :)

(yes I got a ticket INSIDE an OHV park for it with current tags  )

what about insurance?

what about insurance?

Dunno about ATVs and such, but in California it is the law to have your registered vehicles insured, and to carry proof of registration with your vehicle(s) at all times. I used to think that the fact that my insurance info is electronically transmitted to the state was enough of "proof of insurance". I was assured by the cop who gave me the ticket for it that this is not the case. It was a fixit ticket, but he could have just as easily made a full-blown misdemeanor.

I talked to a lawyer friend of mine, who confirmed that even though I have insurance, I got really lucky that the cop was in a good mood that night.

I'd bring it...

You do not need insurance on a green stickered vehicle
