Durtyphoto, I pay 65 cents per mile to flatbed a vehicle anywhere in the good 'ol USA. That's a partial rate and not the full trailer. If you don't mind waiting and you don't mind it riding with someone elses junk, you can get a pretty good deal.
I use the Atlanta office of Jones Motor/Hot Shot Express.

I had a guy haul mine from NJ to Virginia for $500. About a 6-8hr drive. Hope it helps.

8hr drive? dude take a vaca, make a weekend out of it. if its good enough of a deal then an 8hr drive is worth it. if not, you have to ask yourself if youre really getting a deal.
of course this bars previous commitments to work, etc

i actually talked the guy into delivering it to me. he was askin 1500 for the 4runner... i offered 1000, he accepted. he said he would deliver it for 1500. since it needs a new tranny and i can pick one up for a couple hundred, i asked if he'd deliver for 1300. so either way, hes delivering. and that way i cant get fawked over... as much at least. thanks for the quick replies!
