I was heading out of Spider today, (Labor Day) and saw one of my friends who is a volunteer search and rescue guy on the con and he told me that he heard there was some major human carnage this weekend. He did not know the details but he had just heard about it. I was at Spider and the Box all weekend and I saw nothing buy rig carnage. Does anyone know anything about this? Did someone or ones get messed up this weekend?

not sure if this is what they were talking about,, but we helped extract a Toyota from a bad roll (aprox 6 times), down about 100',, it happened about 1/4 mile past Observation Point on the way out the Tahoe side,, the guy was heading out real late Sunday night,, went off the cliff,, and ended up against a pine tree 100' down the hillside,, he buddies couldnt reach him on the CB,, and went looking for him,, they found him wandering around back close to Observation Point, dazed and confused, he didnt know what had happened, couldnt even remember where he had rolled, and was bleeding real bad from his head (ended up needing like 9 staples in his scalp),, after his friends rushed him out and to the hospital,, they went back and finally found the truck,,,,,,, today our group came across his friends,, and we spent 3 hours getting the truck uprighted,, and back up to the road,, we got it started, fixed the 3 flat tires, and cleaned up the MAJOR yard sale down the hillside, !! and a guy in our group drove it out to the staging area,, where we met the driver,(still a little woozy,, and all stiched up), he was very appriciative of our efforts,,

Yes,, the cage held up very well, and is definatly what saved his life
the cage was built by Derek Trent (Trent Fabrication),, in Tahoe City,, (I think)

That is the 2nd bad roll I have seen there. A few years back, Muffler Bob went over 5 times, and landed in the exact same spot. Lucky for them, all the people got out before it went over. The only damge was the CHERRY flatty.

Yes, beer is allowed on the Con. (It's a national forest) and
it's a "road"..................

--besides, where do you see any beer in the photo's-?

And, nobody said the driver had any beer........

looks lika a Coors can sitting on that rock
but I could be wrong.

I'm not casting judgement or saying this caused the roll.

Thanks for the report. That is exactly what my friend must have been talking about. HOLLY ROLL. That guy was lucky to walk away from that one and you guys are what wheeling is all about. Excellant does not even describe the job you guys did to pull that rig out of the depth of where it ended up. Great work guys!!!! :D :D

Webilt,

To you and those who helped. Great job.

I know amid all that happened, it had to make the guy who lost his truck and his "stuff" feel great to know you all cared enough to do all that was done. Congratulations on a job well done.
