I have a 99 Grand Cherokee limited which is my wifes daily driver. It has a growling sound coming from underneath while driving. I've checked the unit bearings and the driveshaft, all seems to be fine. With the jeep on the ground you can turn the front drive shaft 3/8 to 1/2 a turn. Is this normal? If not would it be because of too much slack in the chain? Can you change out just the chain?

yeah you can change out just the chain. but have to take the whole thing apart
