Here's the skinny. I have a '46 CJ2a with lots of rust in the floorboards and bed area. I just bought a good condition '78 CJ5 tub for cheap. How hard will it be for me to use the CJ5 floorboards & bed on my CJ2a? How do these bodies match up? Any concerns about body mount locations? I figure I'll use the CJ5 firewall and wheel wells if it is easy to cut te old ones out.

Has anybody here done a similar repair project?

:)
thanks,

The rear floor is basically the same, but the front is completly different. It's much easier to just use some regular sheet metal or aluminum plate to repair the whole floor.

I agree with old jeep. I just cut my floor out of my 2a and welded in supports for my aluminium diamond plate. It was pretty easy once I got into it. If you are interested, I can snap some pics of mine this week for you.

I am doing what these guys are talking about to my five right now. Here is a link to the page with lots of pics. we are using 2" channel for the floor supports and the body mounts. If you have any questions let me know.
