What are your all's suggestions on how to fully conceal a full size 1911? Looking over a few threads on 1911forums the Milt Sparks VMII seems to be best holster for IWB carry. However there is a 20-24 week waiting period on a new holster.

Buy a TT gunleather. It's basically the same holster and it's about a six week wait or spend $250 on that $100 holster on fleabay.

I would guess:

A. You live in some remote part of the world, where IWB holsters are highly sought after, and the supply for them is nil.

B. There is some new law Obama came up with to outlaw holsters, much like the laws on ammo, to hopefully prevent gun users from carrying, or using their handguns.

C. The actual holster you WANT, is a custom holster and has a 20-24 week waiting period.

D. Bacon

Why not just buy a cheaper IWB holster until the holster you want is ready?

Sorry, I can't offer any other suggestions, since my IWB holster carries a compact 1911.

C. But if there is a knock off that does just as well, I would'nt be against that at all.

I just looked at their website, good looking holsters. However the website says the lead time is about 16 weeks...

Woof. I bought from him late last year and had it five weeks.

IWB small of back, normal or canted will hide one just fine.

a cheap bastard would get a paddle or clip LEFT HAND holster and run it right side IWB.
Not that I do this or anything. Not that nice leather left hand holsters can be picked up from ebay for dirt cheap or anything.

check out crossbreed holsters, I carry a full sized 1911 in one. it takes a couple days to break it in, but once you do it's very confortable for all day carry, and conceals better than anything else I've tried.

Their lead time is 3-4 weeks, but they've been getting them out faster than that lately. They also have a 2 week "try it out" period, if you don't like it they give you a full refund.

Go to any of the gajillion gun shows currently taking place across the country and try out different holsters until you find one that you like, plunk down cash for it, and walk out the door with it that very same day. Or go to a local gun shop and do the same thing.

Or check out http://fist-inc.com/holsters/Default.htm or http://www.brommelandgunleather.com/products.htm etc etc...

How is Gunslinger's selection? I'm from Kingsport (going to school here in Clemson) and will be back all summer for an internship so looking there would be very convenient.

Captain Koons: The way your dad looked at it, this 1911 was your birthright. He'd be damned if any slopes gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this 1911 up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the 1911. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the 1911 to you.

Sorry, but that scene popped into my head when I read your question about the best way to conceal something, it had to be done.

Gunslingers is kinda small, and when I was in there, not a whole lot of selection on holsters/accessories/etc. If you want a good selection of quality holsters, I recommend Mahoney's or Crowder's in Johnson City.
