Hey guys,

I'm looking for different ideas for GM alternators running in the 170-200 amp range.

I have checked out these two sites, and am looking for others.

http://www.alternatorparts.com/Double_Rectifier_cs144.htm

http://www.wranglernw.com/commerce/ShowCategory.asp?CategoryID=9

anything else I need to be looking at that has a proven track record?

thanks in advance!

No new ideas but I run a WranglerNW one and have had it for 4+ years, it is a super high quality unit................runs winch/lights/AC/stereo no sweat.

If you can spend some bucks a company called link-arc has generators good upto about 240amps. They are desinged for a onboard mig unit but should work for the car just fine. The catalogue i have is about 5 years old but its worth a shot.

before you spend some money try to find out what the alternator output is @ your engines idle speed. I always use the most power @ idle where a lot of 140A+ alternators are rated at 20amps or less.
