JeepAddict85 04-20-2009, 06:50 AM Hey guys...this will be an ongoing build thread. Finally joined up, ive been reading some of the tech threads for awhile now. I have a 2000 sport and am in the process of building a nice trail rig/daily driver. Im shooting for pretty capable, with lockers and a bunch of other goodies :smokin:
Alright, here is what i started with:

Sorry, I like your rig...very clean, nice work....however your thread does not belong here.
Nice job with shock mounts...front link mounts are sweet, but nothing on your rig is hardcore.
EDIT: When you start a build thread, it needs to be more than the installation of a lift. This forum is for unibody guys who think outside the box. For the guys who arrent affraid to hack sheetmetal, improvise suspension setups, do major driveline changes, etc. LIke it said I like your rig, but its in the wrong spot. Did you read the forum rules?

Im not being a jerk. TJP will take care of that. Im sure you'll meet him soon enough. BUT I specifically said "I LIKE YOUR RIG".... but Im sorry it simply does not belong here.
I think its great that your modifying your rig and especially by yourself, but just because this is the XJ forum, does not mean its for every XJ. Read the very first post on the page, it covers what is acceptable and not accepatble in here. Unfortunatly, your rig is nothing special. And dont get all butt hurt when I say that. I didnt write the rules, i just follow them. Now, when you get to the point that your 4-linking the rear, installing D60's, setting up doublers, building your own cage, extending wheelbases, doing framerail mods, chopping the rear...etc....THEN post back up.
I will not recomend moving your thread...once ASH see's it, he too will agree and likely move your rig to non hardcore.
Honestly, Im not trying to be a dick...really Im not...Im just trying to explain to you what belongs here and what doesnt. If you had read this http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=582126, you woulda have realized before you posted, that your in the wrong area.

yea i gotcha. its cool, i did go back an read through them. Its not going to be as hardcore as a chopped trail rig. It will have quite a few things not bolt on (cage, stiffeners, etc), but yea it can be moved i know its no buggy.

When you get to those projects you can post them in the Cherokee section, or add to our older TOTMs. For now your build belongs in here.
Too Far Gone 04-20-2009, 02:08 PM Really nice start. It looks Great, keep it comin'...:D

2nd that
mphudak 04-20-2009, 06:21 PM don't know who makes that one, but currie sells them to. I ran the curries in my LJ for a few year and liked them. to mount the tombstone, you cut the passenger bracket down some and weld it in place. the drivers presses in (or can be hammered in with the tool in the middle) Do not run them with radius style long arms, they will bind the suspension.
