first off any sugestions about where to look and who makes good stuff? What will clear a 35" tire? I have been told a 3" lift will clear it but I have also been told it will not so any one have facts? The truck will see gravel roads at worst it is a friends truck and I am trying to help him out so any help would be appreciated.

for this kind of a kit, you are going to have some preferences mainly in spring rate, and rear springs vs. blocks. check out http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/fd4_early.htm . this gives you a good idea of the kinds that are out there and can compare the prices....

you can check http://www.superlift.com/tire.htm for tire fitment, but this is just a rough idea...its not really acurate...for instance i had a 92 explorer with a 5.5" superlift and a 2" body lift, and i fit 35's with VERY minimal rubbing on the fenders...so make your own judgement...

good luck!

I've seen alot of stock F150's run 33's without any lift. I run 35's on my old 78 F150 with only minor trimming in the front.

Put the lift you want on the truck, carefully measure ( take into account any wheel changes especially off-set)
how much room you gained(at wheel lock 2 lock).Go buy the rubber ,just lift it first.
Depending on the lift you choose, they all vary.
You might put on a 3" lift and fit 37" tires.
Good luck and ask the lift dealer what you can expect from his products.
systems are way better than kits but they usually cost double.
