Ok So I've got a 96 XJ with a 6.5" lift. I have a ford 8.8 in the rear and I'm looking for idea's on where to mount my shocks. I have 6.5" lift shocks, but the stock location on the 8.25 is below the axle. I don't want to have them hang up on rocks on the new axle. Does anyone have pics of where they/how they mounted shocks on an 8.8 in an XJ?

I thought about just buying shorter shocks, but if I rase the tabs to the side of the axle won't I cut down on my up travel when stuffing a tire?

Help please!!!

Flex out your rig with no shocks. Select a point on the axle where you would like the shock mounted. Measure how much up and down travel you have from that point. Get a shock that matches your needed lengths and add +1" extra. Weld tabs, install shocks.
