I challenge all of you guys to put together the parts I need to link the rear of my YJ for under 500. Coils, and shocks not included. This can be a kit or just the parts. Everything from truss, to frame brackets.
I have tried but have had zero luck....

hmmmm I bet PVC pipe would work :flipoff2:
I think the bits and pieces of the suspension would add up more than you think. check out Ballistic Fab. They have a lot of great prices on brackets etc. Maybe call a fab company and ask them how much you could get for $500?
but why are you challenging us to find a 4 link for under $500? Why dont you just search for yourself

Ive got some wooden dowels and duct tape. Would that suit your needs?
Challenge needs more specific requirements. Specifically joint choice or preference and tube size/wall.
Why cant you build your own truss and brackets/mounts?

Im sure it can be done, but you have to pay to play in this sport. Do it right and spend some $$$$

make your own brackets, buy dom tubing that can be tapped, and sleeve it with a larger tube (ready to tap DOM can usually be bought from racecar shops decently cheap), and then i always buy my 3/4''x3/4'' heims from www.ubmachine.com they are like $14 for QA1 heims, i have less than that in mine in parts, but i didn't buy ANY of the stuff premade, i made it all myself, and yes it brought the suck cutting everything with a cutoff wheel, i had friends machine my tube inserts at the machine shop they work at (only used the ready to tap tube on the uppers).

ruffstuff 3/4X3/4 with misaling ment spacers weld in bungs and a jam nut 2 in a kit for 35.00 dollars X 4 kits rufly 160.00 dollars. home depot bolts grade 8 bolts and nuts. build all your tabs and brackets your self. 2x2 1/4 wall square tube lowers, make ruffstuff inserts work. 1.5".120 wall tube DOM uppers. stock XJ or ZJ coils. square tube for a upper truss maybe even the same 2X2 1/4 wall you use for the lower links.
i bet if your thrifty you could do it all for 400.00 or maybe even under that. i did it for well under that but i got all the link tube's and inserts for free. i used QA1 hiems, this was befroe ruffstuff had his hiem deal. but i bet it can be done cheap.

I thought it was easy to be able to do this for under 500. Run JJ's with square tubing and build your brackets out of 1/4 plate. Put tj coils and shocks in rear. Should be cheap and easy.

I picked up a stick of 4 inch 1/4 plate for $45 and I have about four feet left after building the truss and other brackets. Ballistic regularly has sales on brackets. It can be done. After I'm done maybe I can prove it but its hard to price all the scrap metal I used.

it will be tough, that's why the XCL kit for $1000 (front and rear) is a good deal and it will save a heck of a lot of time
