I know there are a few cheeseheads 'round these parts.

Have you guys found any good boneyards in central WI (the closer to Milwaukee the better)?

I'm trying to find someone with a stockpile of axles for cheap. Kirchayn in Fredonia has a stash, but the fawkers are asking insane prices for rusted junk.

A dude mentioned something down near Palymra ... any details?

You ain't kiddin' about the insane prices they charge for junk around here. I amost always get my stuff back in MN when visiting family because the prices around me (Delavan) are about 25% higher than back in MN. Example: I was pricing a NP241 xfer out of a 88newer chevy. Yards around me: $400-$500 without trans to case adapter, I got one in MN for $300 with the adapter thrown in.

Don't know of the one in palmyra. May have to check out. What are you looking for anyway?

I've found that any yard that is a "QRP" yard will always look up the "value" in a computer and spit out a number based on national sales. Nevermind that the particular axle you are inquiring about has been sitting outside in the elements for years, has a hive of wasps living inside one of the tubes, and has started to rust itself to the metal rack it's sitting on. And if you don't know exactly what vehicle it's out of, you can forget about them selling it to you. These damn redneck wannabees don't even know the difference between a semifloat and a full floater. Dumbasses I say. :D

In regards to that Palymra yard, all I know is what a dude told me. He lives in Waterford and said, "it's on the way to Eagle, near Palmyra."

I'm just looking for a vanilla d60 ff rearend as well as any other good junk that I can come across. I've only found one yard in the area that will even let people wander around ... the one in Fredonia.

I had my choice of full floaters outside of Eagle $150.00 for which ever I wanted...

I chose a 62" 14 bolt 4.56 open and got a 8 lug 10 bolt for the 8 lug outers with Warn premium hubs. Both for $250.00 total.

CMK,

I've got a D60 rear from a 79 4x4 Ford F250 if your looking for one. And if that don't work, I've also got a 14 bolt laying around also.

Let me know

Cmk..
The area here I live is rather abundant with truck parts and yards you can do buisness with. Problem is they are so "unorginized" that they seldom even know what they have. Good news is I have about 5 yards within a 20 min drive of me that will allow you to wander/shop/ and most are rather reasonable to deal with. I buy FF 60's in the $100-150 range frequantly. You ever would like a guided tour lemme know. BTW I am in the Wis Dells area.
