Toyota sells them. I think Marlin does also.

"Good enough" on a hub nut. Hmmm....

So 2 1/8" would work also?

sure, but don't come crying if you loose a front wheel while driving.

the sockets are $20 from marlin, cornwell, kurt, myself,.....you get the pic. if you're gonna work on your cruiser ( or moreso on somebody elses' cruiser ) then invest a few bucks in the proper tools.

If that was directed at me...I just simply asked because 54mm apparently equates to 2.126". I didn't think 1/1000 of an inch would be a problem!

i was beeing sarcastic; this is the pbb afterall.

of course the 2 1/8" socket will work. just make sure you always use a new locking tab washer and set the proper preload for the wheel bearings. i'd check them at least once a month if you're driving an 80. the full time 4wd tends to make them come loose a lotmore frequently than in the earlier part time cruisers. they also have a tendancy to wear out the trust washer between the outer bearing and inner wheel bearing nut causing excess play........

Well, sorta. The 2-1/8" will work, but most sockets of that size have too thick of a wall to fit inside of the hub body and require clearancing around the O.D. to fit. Also most 2-1/8" sockets I've seen are 3/4" drive, not a biggie if you have a 3/4" torque wrench or a 1/2" x 3/4". So you buy a $30 socket, spend some time grinding it to make it work like a $16 socket :D
