I purchased a power Tig 225 over Christmas, it welds well beyond my expectations. However, The dumb A$$ UPS guys had dropped the machine cracking the plastic face plate around the welder. After seeing the damage I spoke with mark (I purchased the welder from him). He said to contact the main office to get a replacement part, I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone to get a replacement part. I have called multiple times and left messages. Is there anyone I can talk to. The welder kicks ass, I just want to get that plastic piece so it looks as purdy as it welds....

I have been trying to buy a machine and being told it will be in stock in "6 days" or whatever number they pull out for months.

I am driving to Airgas in Reno today and buying a Dynasty 200dx or SW250 because I cannot wait for this anymore. not to mention what happens when i need warranty issues resolved and you guys still cant get units in stock? I'ts getting out of hand.

In the process of 6 months to a year everlast has done a really fine job of selling me on the idea that i would stop running blue and red and give a new guy a chance, then they totally reversed those feelings.

We are proud to OFFICIALLY release the new PowerTig 185 MICRO. We have been working on it for over a year and now it is finally here. This is a completely new unit and design, and will compete well in the Miller Diversion and Lincoln 175 market and with other basic AC/DC TIG welders. No other imported welder comes close to the simple yet functional design we are offering. However, I imagine you will eventually see the import competition copying and bringing out their own versions based off our unit. This unit is another example of the different working relationship we have with our factory over many other importers and part of what makes things different. We began in September 09 with our efforts to bring this product to market.

INDEED it is small in weight and stature. A scant 29 lbs (my scale), and 7 inches wide, by 12 inches high x 18 inches long.

It is really the answer that many customers are seeking in an AC/DC TIG only machine. Quite often, we encounter new and even seasoned customers who desire a machine with capability but do not have a grasp of the advanced features of the more advanced welders.

Many are disappointed to find that many of the functions of the more advanced TIGs are overidden when using the foot pedal. Controls like up slope, down slope, start amps, and end amps are useless with the foot pedal. Furthermore, Pulse tig welding really only reaches its maximum potential with the torch switch. Using the foot pedal and pulse together really makes things more difficult to regulate, with both styles of pulse amp control we have. Customers intending to use the foot pedal are better off with a more simple machine with features that are usable with the foot pedal.

The PowerTig 185 has been boiled down to the most basic and important features while welding whether AC or DC. Here are the features that we feel will bring out the best quality welds with the least amount of hassle:

1) 5 amp start DC. Gives you the low amp capability on thin sheet metal and tubing. Excellent for auto body and fabrication.

2) 20 amp start AC start. Quite low actually for AC use. It is sufficient to do most all but the absolute thinnest aluminum.

3) 180 amps maximum with 35% duty cycle. Compare to others in its class, at 10%!!! 180 amps in an inverter will accomplish a lot. You'll get right up to 1/4" in a single pass with aluminum.

4) AC frequency control. 20-250 Hz. This matches all our AC capable TIG machines on frequency, giving exceptional adjustment. No other TIG in its class offers this feature.

5) AC Balance control. 10-90%. This matches our 250EX, and is what gives excellent control over the cleaning range. It even exceeds our current DX and LX series units. Suffice it to say, no other TIG in its class offers this range of cleaning adjustment.

6) Pedal or Panel Control switch. Simply select for foot pedal operation, or the simple, press and hold 2T torch operation. Easy and simple without sorting through multiple slope, and time controls.

7) Built in, automatic pre flow and postflow, set to the most ideal time length of about .3 seconds preflow and 3 seconds post flow.

8) DINSE 25 connectors. Able to change out torch. With other welders in its class, the torches are fixed and difficult to change.

9) HF start only. Simple and straight forward starts everytime whether in AC or DC mode.

10) TIG only. Many people are seeking a basic tig machine, with a shop full of MIG and stick welders already at their disposal. No need to duplicate what you've already got. Very few customers make use of the stick feature on the unit, so we have simplified and eliminated that feature.

Retail price is 849.00 with torch, consumables and regulator.

Foot pedal is extra.

The 185 Micro is an inverter with the same IGBT technology of our other welders.

I bought the power ultra 205, and it rocks. The plasma torch is sweet, cuts perfect, i really enjoy the on demand torch. I tig welded a little with it and it seems fine, my tig welding skills are limited as im still learning that. The arc welder is solid in the machine and burns rod very efficiently. Im very happy with my purchase and when i move on to ac tig ill be purchasing an everlast. Thank you guys for a solid machine i love it :smokin:

Possibly interested in a new unit to upgrade from my IdealArc 300/300.... Been looking at your welders on here and other sites for the past 2 years... Been waiting to see a bunch of bad reviews and well it doesn't seem like they are gonna happen. Looking for something with Pulse, AC/DC, Single Phase, I only need at most maybe 200 amps but probably need 250 or so to stay on the safe side.

Anyway my MIG is also pretty old also. I like your new (MTS) all in one units but seems like those are DC only. I see your multi-process units, are you planning to maybe have a wire feed attachment for those? It would be nice to keep one power unit. You do have the TIG and Plasma option too, Never had a Plasma so that's pretty cool but I never really had a use for one. I do like the look of your new Digital Display, kinda reminds me of the Thermal Arc I had a while ago... Ahh point me in the right direction!

just thought id share my experience thus far with everlast.

I own a pp205, spoke with mike on the phone the day i got it. There was an issue with some little freq. Tabs on the inside. Some screws, a measurement, and he had me off and running. Had a bad casting on my regulator as well, one was shipped and had it 2 days later. Bravo!

March 27th this year i was working on a front receiver for a bud's rig. Long story short, there was fire and some extremely loud noises from the unit. My neighbor came outside to see what all the noise was... I have called and emailed dozens of times being reassured parts "should" be in by multiple people, and i should have it back soon. Oleg contacted me via phone to say the same thing. I still have nothing.

I had an image of the burnt board on their forums, in a thread about someone asking why there's no negative thread's or anything. The mods saying they dont delete anything. Got a notification that the image was deleted today.

Id go back on my purchase if i could, and start else where. Anyways... My 0.02

If he wants to make a thread and puts it there (where that would below) and it makes him feel better, I am OK with that.

But now I do not have to see it every day, all day when working the forums upper left corner of the screen.

It was not done to tick anyone off or to cover-up a bad welder. We all know welders and electronics never fail. If we wanted to hide it it would have been killed weeks ago, I left it figuring you were venting in some way.
And since you are on another forum post this, maybe I was right on the venting part.

I, and sure others, would rather see a trucks, cars, trailers, boats, grills, inter coolers. That is what the GALLERY is all about on our forum.

So sorry, but was not done to hurt any feelings.

You can hook a hose to the torch with an adapter you will have to make up. It will perform just fine, you just have to route a hose out of your shop to dump the water.

Water in will be the hose with the mess in it, the other coming from the dinse is the exhaust line.

Received my 250EX within 2 days of ordering, it came UPS, 3 packages. Everything arrived in good shape, no damage. I was a little disappointed in the torch which it comes with but I also run a Dynasty 350 at work with a Weldcraft CS torch, so really no comparison between the two torches. The Everlast torch water hoses were also not long enough to hook up to the cooler, so off the HD to buy some 1/4" Ice maker plastic line and 2 barbed splices to hook it up, I was really anxious to try it out. What I can tell you is there is really no difference in the quality or stability of the arc between the Dynasty I run at work and this Everlast machine, I also prefer the control knobs on the Everlast to the push button touch pad of the Dynasty and having to go into its hidden menus to access some function controls. After using the Everlast torch for about 10 minutes I did switch it out to a Weldcraft WP-20-25 and DIN adapter from Arc-Zone and after welding for several hours I am extremely happy with the quality and functionality of the welder. I purchased this unit for home use just because it could not justify or afford spending 5k for a Dynasty 250 package and for sure not the 10K the 350 cost my work. I used to have an old Syncrowave here at home but it drew way to many amps on AC (alum) for my house panel to support. Plus once you weld with an inverter style welder and all its adjustability with low amp draw it’s the only way to go. If you’re like me I know it’s hard to buy off shore products and spend 2K at that, but with no real difference in functionality or weld quality to the Miller and it comes with a 5 year warranty it was a good choice. Trust me I will be posting if it does not hold up. But after dealing Oleg and Mark I think they will take care of any concerns that may arise they seem like stand up guys.

Could you tell us what is happening with the MIG line these days ? Are any changes in the works for the 205P and the 250P ?

The 160STH offers both HF start tig and Lift start with gas connection and solenoid in the unit. The package is nicely put together with a plastic case housing the WP17 Tig torch ,Electrode Holder ( 10'-0" ) and work lead along with a Argon Flow meter .

The lift start, must touch the tungsten to the metal (work) and lift to start the arc (arc transfer). The HF start, HF/HV will, as you get close to the work (say 1/8"-1/4" will start the arc without touching the metal work. This can lower the change to contamination of the tungsten. HF is newer technology (though we have lift as well) and best if you are new to TIG.
