Well I finally got tired of looking for a trailer on craigslist that wasn't clapped out or sold before I could get there. So I went down to Starlite Trailers and ordered this http://www.starlitetrailers.com/TRAILER-3500-83-185CR.htm

I added LED lights, 4 wheel brakes with 3500 lb axles, spare tire, and had them move the jack back so I could drop the tailgate with the trailer hooked to the truck. They build to order so I don't think I got hurt to bad with with an out the door price of $2140.

Sounds like you got a decent deal. I've almost the same set up, I just got lucky and found mine at a loan company as a repo. I'll have right at $1200 in mine after new tires.

I've had a few Starlite trailers. I was really happy with them. My buddy has one I've been trying to buy from him. I'd like to have another one built. Post pics when you get it.

My brother has a 16' 14k gooseneck of theirs it pulls really nice. I tried to buy it off of him but he wouldn't part with it. I really wanted a gooseneck but it was about 1500 more than my budget would allow and I didn't want to borrow money for it.

Another reason for the Starlite is they build them about 40 miles from home and I figured I would give my money to a local business. I should pick it up in 2 weeks and will post pics when I get it.
