I am in the middle of a swap, a 4.0 + box (auto) from a right hand drive 96XJ into a left hand drive 87 YJ.
I have the harness from the XJ, I want to connect it up and then splice the "five to fire" cables to the YJ.
Can someone please tell me what these 5 are?
I have searched here, I have searched CJ offroad.
Everyone mentions 'five to fire' but doesn't specifically say what the five are.

all the info is in the heads of the 4.0 swap gurus at CJOFFROAD. just do more searching. i got lots of help there when i did my 91 YJ 4.0 swap into my 87 YJ.

i can tell you that i kept the 87 bulkhead plug-in at the bulkhead, cut all the wires and cut off the 91 plug and then spliced the wires from 91 harness to 87 bulkhead harness.

ok, how many wires are there on the 87 plug (not the group that goes to the front lights)? and then how many wires are on your donor side?


do you have the wiring diagram for the donor and/or the 87?
