Okay I did the searh could not find.

Does a chev 203 bolt to a 727 with the dodge 203 adapt? plate:confused:

Also can you use a 727 out of a car or 2 wheel drive p/u by just changing the tail shaft.?

( I am doing the doubler in my SAS dakota. I am droping in a 360 and I hope a 727. I am having a hell of a time finding the trans and tranfer case. Hope you Dodge boys can help.

no, the chevy 203 will not have the right spline count or it would bolt up. no way around it, you need a dodge one. on the 2wd/car 727, you need the tailshaft and tail housing(mounting point for the adapter) as far as i know. ;)
that sound like its gonna rock (pardon the pun). what 360 are you using?
:usa:

There is no adapter between the 727 and 203 - it bolts directly to the tailshaft housing. You can convert any 2wd 727 to a 4wd/203 with the tailshaft and housing, just like Fullsize said. 23 spline.

Why not go with a NP435 there loads of fun , not to mention extra low range ( I have an extra clucth housing off a 360 that id let go for cheap)
Just currious but what are you using for axles and tires?(theres not many built dodges in vic)

How long is the adapter beween the NP435 & NP203??

the adapter between the np435 and 205 is 11,7/8" , the np435 is 9,7/8" and the clucth housing is 8,3/4".
I'll measure the adapter between my 435 and 203 tomorow once things dry up outside.

Hey Frank, yes Im on Island 4x4, and my rig is a Blue 75 short box with 35'' BFG's, its got a big Q-jet on a 360, a NP435, and 203(for now) and a d44 front, 9,1/4" Corporate rear with a detroit limited slip of some sort. I've got huge black tube bumpers with a bunch of lights and a big black tube roll bar/ roof rack that mounts to the bed.
I recently finished striping a 1980 1 ton and scored a sweet propane system, a NP435 to replace mine and a extra clucth housing, a NP205 to make a doubbler and get part time 4x4, a dually, kingpin D60 front with 4:56 gears, and a D70FF rear also with 4:56 gears.
Say dont you drive that silver zuk in esquimalt Ive seen it lots and Im in that area a fair bit (have a friend that lives near the anglers club)

Rouge Bronco the adapter between the np435 and np203 is 6,1/2" hope this helps
Cheers Dale!
