I put 60s under the YJ last winter and preceded to to beat the snot out of it all last year. After breaking a few front leaf springs I decided to start saving money to link the front end to avoid the broken leaf problem. Not only was I trying to cure the broken leaf problem but I was also after a slightly longer wheel base, new skid plate, and a much better approach angle.

Heres the rig on various trips last year...

Progress :grinpimp:

Ditched the leafs and cut off the front end. Last picture shows the belly skid about half way done. Its modeled after the skids S&N Fab builds on their rigs, it will also serve as the link mounting platform.

The link setup will consist of a 3 link with panhard, using solid 2" 7075 aluminum links. I got my hands on some currie johnny joints and used them everywhere I could. The only spot I couldnt fit one was on the upper frame end mount, just didnt have enough room between the frame and tranny. I ended up using a 3/4 heim that fit nicely and gave me enough room to get the exhaust through.

The above pictures were taken while everything was being mocked up, I have since reinforced the frame end panhard mount, both upper link mounts, and finished the truss.

Here are some more photos after a little wheeling last weekend, I was really pleased that I was able to get the panhard bar inverted at ride height, it side hills pretty nice :D

I was using the stock YJ power steering reservoir up until this weekend. Finally stepped up and got a PSC res, it works much better and my pump is finally happy.

Final shot shows the new boat sides, I need to get some UHMW to skin them with, finish the other side, and built a new floor.

I found a crack in my RCI fuel cell, instead of messing around and fixing it I just ordered a smaller plastic cell to replace it. That along with cutting brakes and a rear detroit should be going in soon.
