I have never seen a setup like this. This is on a set of demountable hubs. No these are not Motor Home axles (although there is nothing wrong with those) so don't turn it into a which is better thread. I'll just delete this one and start another.

Anyway there were on an old travel trailer. Looks like the ring is a big magnet that is kept from turning by a tab. It just attracts the hub to it to stop. Does this sound right? Anybody know where I can get parts for this? I did sone google searching and didn't find anything about these brakes.

It has 3 different kind of hubs. Dayton/Fayette, Dexter and another that is unknown.

The spindles are bolt on and I suppose I could just find a new backing plate and wheel/tire combo that would work, however my budget is gone so I need to make these work. Plus I have all new tires and several spares. I'm just going to repack/replace the bearings and call it good for now. But I would like to find extra brake parts.

If I'm not mistaken, this issue was brought up a while back and the general consensus was to scrap that system and install the standard setup for electric brakes.

I'm not scrapping yet. So theorhetically if I were to keep it is there any tech manuals or parts (mainly that big brake thing available)

I will eventually get new hubs, just not before this weekend.

8-14.5? isn't that the same size as trailer house axles?

Yes it is.

That's pretty much the reason for scrapping it. Parts are hard(er) to come by, usually special order, and expensive. By the time you spend the money to buy a couple of parts for that setup, you could have bought the entire assemblies necessary to swap them over to more common style of electric brakes.

Ah OK. Well I'll get bearings and slap them together and see how they work. I picked up some springs for that brake ring thing. We'll see how well they work. This still needs to be safe.
