settle there boy....and way to pad yer own post.... :flipoff2:

I've got pics of my t-case linkages for my manual in my tech links. Also, give Jon Fintelmann a call and see if you can stop over and look at his blue FJ40 - 350, auto, early case. He keeps it over by the mall, so what, 10 mile drive for ya?? Take pics while yer there so you can share the experience....heh

Saw your post yesterday, but I don't have pix. BUT, are you looking for the Transmission linkage or the transfercase linkage? Reading now, it looks like transfercase, and mine is still vacuum :jester:

My transmission is shifted with the auto linkage from my GM steering column.

thanks woody, i will have to give him a call when i have some free time.

yoda, yes, i am talking about the transfer linkage...as i am probly gonna just buy a lokar setup for the tranny. the vacuum crap is still SEMI hooked up but i want to be rid of it...so can i just unbolt the vacuum stuff and cover the hole (i think there is a hole) and be done with it??

thanks for the help

you need to replace the vacuum setup with a mechanical one. Easy to do, they interchange. However, not necessarily easy to lcoate. It's a 5 bolt 30 minute job...heh

so i can take the mechanical linkage off my 4spd tcase?? i bet so because i dont think 3spd cases had mechanical linkage...

mechanical linkage for a Cruiser are pretty much "identical"...there were some differences in shaft length I've discovered, but the shafts interchange from year to year. You can either replace just the 4-bolt side cover from vacuum to mechanical or replace the entire nose cone assembly. (there were some later fine-spline mainshafts however - I've got one on the shelf.)

Mechanical linkage came out ~1972 - mine had it, but my 1969 was vacuum.
