hi guys, new to IH's. not to pirate though. i tried the faq, and it isnt working for some reason.
so, my question is easy i hope. im looking at a 74' scout II. to my knowledge it is all stock. it has a 345. it has a four speed.
so what four speed, and what t-case?
the rockers are fair, has some rust right behind the rockers in the rear quarters and some other here and their. definately not typical. it has a stripped out screw in the distributor preventing it from starting. they want $800 with a clean title.
good deal?
thanx a bunch for any answers you can give me.

74, so in my experience it's gonna have a d30 with disk brakes, but it could also have drum dana 30 or disk dana 44. change over year
you can find everything stock related at the binderplanet.com searching around, although it appears the FAQ's from the binder bulletin never made it over there.
t18 or t19, i don't know when the transistion to t19 was, you probably are looking at an 18.
Dana 20 t-case
that's alot of money for a truck you've never heard run unless it's real solid.

The axles are stamped and you should know enough about closed or open knuckel to figure out the rest. What does the 4-speed say, what is the shift pattern? :shaking:

250.00-300.00 cash money ----- you could cruise down the mountain here to Utah and by that shit all day long mint cond- for 800.- 1000.00.. i think I paid 300.00 for mine, drove it home did a tune up and rolled hard up and down the roads running fac. air conditioning with-in a day. 300 - and it was restored (not properly) only about 5 - 6 years ago.... I'ts got the best paint job out of any vehicle I've ever owned thats pre 1997.

Joe, I assume you are talking about the one in conifer on craigslist. Not a bad looking Scout. It most likely has a T18 closed ratio tranny with a Dana 20. If you get it and are lookng for parts I have a few Scout 2 parts I would get rid of cheap as I have no need for them anymore.

I thought I changed all the BB links to Binder Planet. I'll have to check again.
