If any other pirate board members want to meet up, let's do it. I'm thinking Rattle Rock, small section at the end of Trail 3 with the flat, vertical rock and Rail Trail.

May be too late but I'm getting conflicting views on where exactly Rail Trail is. I found an old thread that showed it. In those videos I see that at one time I hit the last ledge as you pop up onto Trail 3 but somehow I missed the rest of the trail

can anyone clarify where it's at?

If you know where that big vertical rock is at the top of trail 3,just go past the rock,it will be on your left and the next left you come to is trail 39,the best way is to go down 39(extremely fun) and hang a left at the T at the bottom, just stay on that trail and youll find it.

we found it...

that's about all I can say. That is one of the most ridiculous trails I've ever run in the rain. So bad in fact that it ended up being an overnight stay

I've got pics on my camera somewhere. Someone in our group has video. It's not a pretty place. We ran into some guys from Michigan that came down the trail and pointed us in the right direction. I'll never go back in the rain unless there's a lot of money involved

sorry there's not anymore. we spent most of the time repairing trucks and trying to get out by nightfall. at least there's some updated pics of the place. There's a couple other small rock gardens and a tight pinch up the hill from where those pics were taken where there's a tree on one side and a rock face on the other. I'm going back again, but just when it's dry.

You had better call me before you go next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a guy here in Marietta that knows his way around pretty well. He used to live in Knoxville. We may be going early June.

If it's dry I'll go. Hitting that stuff in the rain was not a smart move. If we hit Rail Trail we need to start about 9am and see where it goes from there. The mistake we made was heading into it around lunch time :shaking:
