You want to know what the funniest thing about this thread was? I actually scrolled back up to the the top about halfway through to make sure I didn't acidentally "hop to" the Chit Chat forum.

I said to myself, "Country Girl and Whizzy posting in the Zuk forum? Something's not quite right here."

Yea we'll see when at 40 inches it has less than 2in or rear stear? ya we're gonna hate that, it's gonna suck going in a straight line all twisted up :D and being able to steer and turn just as good as being on flat ground... yep it'll suck...

C'mon zack i did my homework here ;)

god how will it ever work?? it'll go straight!

nuttzack

long links do help get rid of rear steer, but link placement has alot to do with it also, which isn't a concern for you because you have them placed nicely. My only concern was how the links aren't paralell. Every thread I have ever read on this forum and any suspension guru I have talked to on this board has specifically told me or mentioned to me that you want to make your links as paralell as possible. Don't get so defensive dave, I'm not picking on your shit cause I know you have the know how, I was just looking for your reasoning on the link placement.

Having the links parallel has to do with squat/anti-squat. It's too late for me to remember which this setup is going to do under acceleration. I'll think about it in my sleep and check back in tomorrow.

well i'll tell you right now that if you do the math for the anti squat formula, it gives ya a weird answer 198% but having seen this exact setup in action on mutiple vehicles now i do know that it has VERY little and works extremly well... just remember, because it don't add up, doesn't mean it doens't work...

I never said it wouldn't work, a guy mentioned links being parallel so I told him why he was told that. We designed certain amount of anit squat into toyfamily's buggy to help it climb a little better. Link setups are nice in that if you know what you are doing, you can taylor how they will perform. Like anyone really knows what 198% anitsquat is just by looking at the numbers on a calculator. We didn't bother to do any calcualtions when building his setup. Maybe because we didn't have time to worry about it, but we knew it would work. So is Crash building this thing or who is????

crash
09-09-2002, 05:47 PM
Toss the calculayor, smart man wilson.....

YEs, you can overengineer/take readings, bla bla, but its the pure gut and experiance that makes shit happen in a good way!

I am re-tar-ded with tube..

I've seen that setup before on a rock buggy Roggy built for comp. (its a FJ-40 that runs calrocs). From what i've seen and been told by people that have drove it, its great. The way I look at it, if Roggy is running that setup, its gotta work.
