: Wheelers For The Wounded, Oklahoma Style
E-Rawk 05-01-2009, 07:13 AM Oklahoma has a date set for July 25th and 26th at Disney, Oklahoma.
Due to lack of time the handling of the event has changed hands a bit and will now be hosted by KORE a local shop in Tulsa and local forum TulsaOffroad.com (Not a club).
We could use a hand getting things all squared away for this. If you're interested I'm posting the link to our thread over on TOR.

freakyt 06-12-2009, 02:39 PM Bump with some updates...
OKC Trail Chasers are showing some interest in making this run to Disney with us. Should be a great time. I plan to make it out to the Tuesday, June 16th meeting with them. I'll bring fliers and information and from what I understand - all are welcome to the meeting. I've posted on okjeepthing.org which is mostly OKC area wheelers as well - and a few of them might be showing up as well.
We have good connections with current and retired veterans. Looks like our fliers have made it into the internal Oklahoma Army websites and is posted in the VA offices thanks to a few good friends in good places. We hope the turn out from our Veterans is great!
We continue to hit the streets and any and all business's looking for support in either monetary donation or raffle items. Anything anyone would be willing to donate would be great. We want to make this raffle a good one and could use any and all the help we can get.

Look forward to meeting everyone in Disney!

Dave...that's a bummer that you guys won't be able to make it. You'll be missed
I may have to call Brad & twist his arm a bit to show up! Lol
The meeting tonight went well. A lot of people stepped up to donate their time & energy to make this event happen. We've accomplished quite a bit in a short notice.
I heard from Aaron Peters that he posted up some fliers @ 4WPW in Moore so hopefully we'll draw some more of the OKC crowd.
Thanks AP

I left them a stack of them, so I hope they're passing them out to customers.
They seemed excited about the event, and acted like one or two of them were going to try to make it out. I hope they do, the more people the better.
freakyt 07-17-2009, 03:18 PM registration form: http://www.oklahomaoffroaders.com/Registration for Wheelin.pdf
We'll have them at the event and all vehicles participating should be signed in by 9am
apeters89 07-19-2009, 09:59 PM I almost had to cancel
The vacuum lock-off valve on my Propane setup quit working :( Took a while to figure that one out.
Right now I've got it bypassed, and I have to remember to turn off my tank every time I stop. Hopefully I can get a rebuild kit for it this week, otherwise it's going to be a busy weekend hopping out every time I shut off the Jeep.
Redruuster 07-21-2009, 07:04 AM Anyone heading down on Friday? We should be there Friday evening, camping at Hogans and willing to do some night running.
TJ Ken 07-21-2009, 11:20 AM Anyone heading down on Friday? We should be there Friday evening, camping at Hogans and willing to do some night running.
Yes we are planning on leaving here (Broken Arrow) around 10 am to get things setup Friday afternoon.
See you there!
mrtoddb 07-22-2009, 09:07 AM I'm still debating it, but most likely be there Sat morning. Sold my big tow rig, so no way to pull camper/Jeep combo anymore, and I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do the tent thing again. Anything need to bring in particular other than the normal necessities?
mrtoddb 07-22-2009, 09:10 AM what info do you need and we will get it to you
I just need to know what I need to do in particular, where to be, what time and so forth. Also, do I need an empty seat? I will have if need be, but if not needed, got a friend that really wants to go, and has never been before. He said he wouldn't go if we had somebody else to fill it though. Other than that, I'm good, should be there Sat. a.m. by 9 @ Hogan's.
-Todd
freakyt 07-22-2009, 10:49 AM You don't have to have an empty seat to wheel...an empty seat just helps get more Vets out in the trails...registration for that will be at 9am Saturday...
The main thing to expect on any of the trail led official Vet runs is you must have insurance, you must have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and the vehicle must be to offroad standards (roll cages, seat belts for all passengers, full enclosed metal structure if not full cage etc )
You can see all the rules at : http://www.tulsaoffroad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1536
These are just for the safety of our Veterans - the entire weekend is about having a good time and honoring our American Vets...This is going to be a great time and plenty of wheelin' for everyone!
(if I remember right, there are only 1 or 2 actual official trail led runs, the rest is free time for all of us to hang out and have a good time)

Nah, the fuel lock-off just gave up the ghost. Have to rebuild it now.
mrtoddb 07-29-2009, 10:41 PM Well, I had bigger issues with an axle I thought and couldn't get it done in time, and turned out to be something very simple and stupid on my part to overlook...
Sorry to miss it, sounds like it was a good time. Maybe see you guys on trail some other time.
