Just run the wide belt on the narrow pulley!
It works fine....belts are designed to run on the edge so a thicker belt will work on a narrow pulley when a narrow belt won't work on a wide pulley.
This is the way I ran mine for YEARS!

On a Saginaw pump?
Or run a narrow belt on the wide pully. I have been doing that for years too.
The rumor is that 4 popper Jeeps and 70s Volvos used the wide belt pulley on Saginaw pumps.
..Thanks!!...I will try that!!..

The problem with a narrow belt on a wide pulley is that is runs in the valley of the pulley and it will slip under heavy load.
I used to have a hell of a time with my p/s when a guy pointed out that the valley of my pulley was polished, meaning the belt was slipping.
I moved up to a wider belt that just contacted on the sides and it never slipped again.

I haven't noticed that problem with the narrow (17/32") belt driving my PS pump, York and 2 alternators, but my Gates Gator Grip belt does not bottom out in the crank pulley groove.
