FC.. how does that rear shackle angle work for ya... pretty good all around? It's steep, but with the flat arch of the 55 springs (well, on a 55 in your case, whoodathunkit), it just might work, no?

PISSED OFF!!!! That was the first thing I thought when I saw both of those rigs. Rhino your junk is sick bro. I think I dig it. Wouldn't want that thing pulling up in my rearview mirror.

Actually the rear springs are 63" chevy springs and they are wicked soft. they are soft under an unweighted mini, they are REALY soft under a wagon :D I think the shackle angle is a little more than 45deg and it works fine :D

What's that rig like on the highway, sans the top? I've thought of chopping my top down the road sometime, but I'm concerned about cowl shudder and the like. A problem?

(Not that it really matter, topless in a 55 is sweet!)..

The windshield frame is allot more stout than I thought. That was my main concern. The sides are LOOOSE without the top. I tied the door post to the cage and that fixed that. As far as the ride goes. OMG! there is soooo much less sway you cant believe it!
Even on the trail, sudden side drops that use to cause the top to swing are all but elliminated. I love it. The only thing is now I cant laugh at my freezing 40 buddies in the middle of winter :D

Did you weld the top of the tailgate shut to make it water tight? Drain holes in the floor?

If the body survives the beating I hope to give it this year I ma cap evrything off this winter. Although it is sadisticly fun watching friends snag themselves on jaged sheetmetal:eek:

here is a pic of "CHUCKLES" skin and hair caught under a bur on the door post :D

Between the choped out rockers and quarters and the usual Land Cruiser rust holes, I asure you its far from water tight:D

haha i can vouch for that, last year i crossed a river, but only after i regained traction when the water inside the truck came over my lap. just needed balast.
