: Radius arm or 3 link for the rear?

Ok.. I have an 04 nissan frontier that i have already swapped the front end to a d44 w/ radius arms and coils. Just about finished with a new longer radius arm setup and and from what i have seen on the trails and on the web it flexes well. I am also in the process of building a d44 rear to replace the nissan axle. Now my question is would a radius arm setup work on the rear. This is a daily driver so i need something that will be safe. I don't have room for a 4 link due to the gas tank that i don't want to move or change at this point in time. The other option is a 3 link. I'm trying not to spend to much coin on the setup but still want it to be strong and reliable. I looked into something like the trail gear 3 link rear setup for the yota crowd but i don't think i will have room for coils on the axle under the frame rails. Would a y link on one side work with a single straight link on the otheror will it be unsafe.. or do i need a true radius arm on each side to handle the load under power? If i do the radius arm setup i would probably use the ballistic radius arm brackets with coil pads. What do you guys think. Oh yeah i want to get rid of the rear leafs because the leaf spring hangers are trashed and new hangers require new springs shackles and shackle mounts so i might as well link it.

I looked at this exact same thing, and am still not convinced that it's a bad idea. After looking around a little more, I found two different manufacturers who use this setup from the factory:

Land Rover and Mitsubishi. The LR Discovery and the Mitsu Raider both have radius arm rear suspensions, and I think it looks like it works fine.

The guys in the Hardcore Jeep section talked me out of it, but I still have a couple arms and some wedges that are just itching to find their way onto my rear axle.....

Yeah i'm thinking about a radius arm like the newer jeep long arm kits have for there front end to eliminate the 4 link. I don't really want wedges in the rear ( i hate c bushings and i already have to deal with them up front)
