I've been contemplating this for a little while now, but since I don't own anything foreign.....

If I were to use a marlin type double case setup, could I flip the rearward case to make it a drivers drop?

Is this going to cause oiling problems?

I'm not concerned about moving sheetmetal ( who is anyway). It kinda looks like the toy cases have a lot of bottom to them, hopefully you can understand what I'm saying.

Where does the shifter linkage come in and is it possible to twin stick one of these?

Well I may not be the most knowledgable on this board but i am pretty sur that a toyota t case is not clockable. There might be away to turn it but i am pretty sure there is not. As far as shifiting linkage is concerned there really is no external linkage. The T-cases are what they call top mounting and tthe shifter mounts straight into the T-case itself and controls two rods that move the case from 2 wheel drive into 4 wheel drive and high nuetral and low. Yes there is a twin stick for the cases and a company called www.frontrangeoff-roadfab.com has it.I hope this helps you out:beer: :usa:

P.S the other type of shifter is a forward shift but it will only work if you have a toyota transmission so its proably not what you need

NO.None of this is feasable. But OTT industries is offering an adapter to adapt a 300 behind a toy case and Downeast offroad offers a flip kit for the 300.But add all this up and your close to Atlas.

The mini cases do not work upside down. Also, while you can twin stick them, you still won't get front wheel drive only. Go with the D300 or the NP205....heavy, but for what your doing a better option.

You could use a later model Tacoma tcase, they are drivers side drop.

How difficult would it be to bolt a Tacoma case to an older truck case?

Woody, this isn't for my future rig, it's for an actual street driven yet fully capable off road rig. The tcase issue is just in the dreamworks right now, but I really like the marlin crawler setup.

But it's chain driven and no low range gearsets are available. Marlin is working on a "twin stick" for one I think, but who knows if that'll even happen

Did I mention it was chain driven :flipoff2:
