My book says min. at idle is 8psi. 30-80 at 2000 rpm.

What are you guys averaging, my pressures seem to follow the book but no more than 40.

I am a little nervous.

It pretty much always runs 60 when it is cold, 40 when it is warm... except when I roll it over and let it go to 0. I still can't believe my rod knock went away after that one, although it took a while. :D

I have had several 318's. In one of my old 68 Chargers it ran around 30 to 60, My Power Wagon read low similar to your rig. The most it ever went up to was just alittle over 40, but I have never had any problems with thie engine, typical 318....200,000 miles and I have not had to ever replace anything but 2 sets of spark plugs and filters and fluids. One of my Ramchargers (a 1992) it also reads low, no more than 45ish, but it is the same, compression is great, not burning any oil, and plenty of power.

I would not worry too much, Just check your oil for signs of burning, metalic coloring, and watch you temp. If your temp is higher that normal in normal driving condititons, then you may be getting too much friction heat, caused by poor lubrication pressure, which can be detected by burnt oil smell due to viscosity breakdown.

But, most likly I would not worry too much.

I changed the oil pressure switch and pressure went to almost 40 at idle.
Going to install a manual gauge, this elec. is to iffy..
