Will an xj shaft fit on my 94 1/2 ton? If so what years of xj will fit?

just measure length and u-joint size. The xj weighs less so I don't know if that will be an issue, but you need to measure everything first.

I have read in the past of putting the xj shaft on older trucks. I'm really not worried about the length just the splines on the u joint

Yup, it should work just fine. Drill the two nylon plugs out of the shaft first and it will slip a long ways.
