Ok i am goin to get a flip kit tomorow for the blazer am going to put 56's in the back. So i guess i got two questions what came with 56's that i can get from a JY? From certain rears off pickups right?
Now my main question, I have stock steering and would i be able to just run a drop pitman arm or block with the front for a while? Or is it a waste of time? I know that most of you guys run crossover and its highly recommended? But curious how the stock setup might last. At this moment i cant afford the crossover stuff, but if i can't do it without it then i wont bother with the front for a while. Now most use the 52's to gain some clearonce on the firewall, 4"s right? So if i use the stock shackle position in the back and only move the front mount forward 2 inches then i would only gain 2 inches in the wheelbase correct? I am thinking with my tire size i dont need the extra clearance right now and with a B-52 kit i could do that right?
Thanks!

if you want to turn while twisted up you need crossover, cause you can have the steering wheel turned all the way and the tires will be straight ahead. not fun.

3/4 ton subs and pick ups for 56's

I am curious about the same thing. I know someone has that answer. In theory you are off a little. Stock spring is 47 inches. If you put a 52 in there and only move the front mounting location 2 1/2 inches, you have made the axle stay in the same center position. You should have to move it 5 inches to move the axle foreward. If you move the foreward mount 5 inches, you should go 2.5 inches foreward.

I couldnt remember how long the stock fronts were. Well depends on the point of view. If i moved it 2 or 3 inches then i could add a longer rear shackle and it would work wouldnt it? or would it mess up my rear shackle angle too much? Then that way my wheel base would be pretty close to the same or +1 or 2 inches. With the b52 kit it should be fairly easy. Then when i want to have more clearance move them forward more.

someone else will have to answer for sure but I am pretty sure the stock shackle mounting position with a longer shackle will work. The stock shackle angles foreward. With the longer spring you will get it to angle slightly back. That helps with the awesome droop associated with the 52 inch spring. Like I said, front mount moved foreward 2 1/2 inches will give you stock wheelbase. Move more than that to get longer wheelbase.

Ok got my 56's from the JY and need some ideas. I heard of one person that said they took the 2nd and 4th leafs out of the pack, is that a good start or should i leave it alone or are those 2 a good start?

And on the 52 rears should it have the plastic pad at the end of the leafs?
