The axle shaft itself (barring any neckdown profile) will be the same strength if the spline count is the same.

The u-joint is different so the u-joint ears on the 60 shaft will be stronger though.

considering dana 60 don;t have 33 splines i don;t think so. Dana 60 can be found with 30 or 35 spline and someplaces sell aftermarket 47 splines

A Spicer cut 33 spline axle shaft is the same size as an aftermarked cut 33 spline cut.

They are no means the same strength, not even the splines...

If your talk just the spline part... Yes.
A Spicer 30 Spline Dana 44 shaft is the strength as a 30 Spline Dana 60, however only that part of the shaft.

There is much more to an axle that give it it's strength.
I'm a fan of the Dana 44 axle, have done some research on it...even have a web page to help people learn more about the Dana 44.
I think it a waste of money to use custom 33 spline shafts in a Dana 44, front or rear.

i agree, however it was most cost effective. i'm thinking of upgrading but was wondering just how strong my rear end really is. i have a Supperior 33 kit in it and a Poly truss im runnin 37's in Johnson Valley with no real problems as of yet. link to rear end build in my sig.
