I have this engine in a buggy its a 4.3 with a Painless wiring harness and it started running like its got a miss and I notice carbon? on the links where the exhaust pipe hits.I have replaced everything I can think of like coil,plugs,wires,fuel pump....etc.Any thoughts?Thanks

the spider is a know problem with these motors...
have seen a few go bad...
same problem, missing, running ruff, just a little miss like a plug or wire...
but it aint....
i would start here....

I was thinking if it is the spiders,tpo go ahead and do the conversion to the MFI.anyone done this?

do it! the problem is the poppet valves stick in the tip of the injector tubes. the injectors are moved out to the tips of the spider with the new kit. they are still a 19# injector and no one makes a kit to upgrade to larger injectors.
you could use a Holley v6 manifold weld in injector bungs and upgrade the injectors that way. do a search on some of the s10 forums if your interested in going that route, I've seen a few different wright ups on the subject. there's even one where they cut a Holley stealth manifold down to fit a v6.

This problem ended up being the Oxygen sensor.It was actually unplugged,plugged it up and it runs perfect.

The scanner we were using wasnt all that good.
