I just installed a MSD 6ALN the N is for Nascar in my CJ-7 right where the factory ECM used to go behind the glovebox. After driving the other day I reached up there to tuck in a wire and noticed that the box was VERY warm. Is this normal for the MSD boxes or is my heater core heating this thing up?

Thanks,

Mark

I don't run a MSD in my rig due to a extream aversion to electronics *keep it tractor like* is my motto. But I do run a MSD AL in my Stang and it gets warm to the touch after a bit of driving. What you could do is bypass the heater core just to test if it is warming anything up.

Keep it simple like a tractor.... I like that, to bad is mine is more like Keep is simple like a stealth fighter... Running Fuel injection in sequential injection mode I have a butt load of electronics and a laptop rides along with me for tuning changes...

Good to know it does get warm on itself, it just suprised me how warm..

Thanks..

Actually I just shot the one on the stang after a 45 min drive with my lil heat gun thingy and got a 115 degree reading and thats mounted on the inner firewall under the dash and it is roughly 65 degrees outside now. So yeah kinda warm, but it has always been this way so must be acceptable *will prolly make me walk to work tomorrow now*
