Did a search and could not find what I was looking for. Dose anyone know if I need to disconnect drive lines if I am flat towing my Jeep with a T-18 and D-20 combo? D-20 has the tera-low kit not sure if this makes a difference or not. Thanks!

Nobody flat tows a D20?

Leave the trans in gear, put the trans case in neutral and hope it spins enough oil to lube it. Best bet is to remove the rear drive like from the rear end then just tie it up and remove the caps just to be safe.

I flat tow mine all the time
I even have a turbo 350 auto.
What I did was put a Warn full floater kit in the rear and I just twist the hubs to free,leave the trans in park and off I go.

you have to pull the driveshaft for a dana 20 t case, as they won't lube the output in neutral...

That's the Dana 300 that has that problem, not the 20. As someone else said leave the tcase in neutral and the tranny in gear. You'll be fine. A friend of mine has been towing his Dana 20 equipped '79 for over ten years like this with no problems whatsoever. Trips range from 150 to 600 miles at a time on this rig also.

I've always put both my T18 and D20 in N, should I leave the the T18 in gear? Does it make a difference?

no, that's the dana 20 too, I fried two output shafts flat towing (shafts turned blue from the heat, and then fractured) with the t case in neutral, then was informed of the requirement to remove the driveshaft when flat towing, and haven't lost one since... Of course now I tow on the back of a gooseneck trailer...
