: Spring and shock install question

Now that I have settled on getting the Trxus 235/85 R16 M/Ts I have to pull the proverbial finger out and install the springs and shocks. I know when I first got my Disco, the Dealer had to correct the typical lean problem, as it was above their acceptable tolerances. The problem being that I can’t remember which way it was leaning. Anyone here know which way they typically lean. The reason for the question is that the springs that I have are:

Front 15” & 14 5/8”

Rear 17 1/16” & 16 5/8”

I know there is not that much difference but at least I would like to get them on the correct side to start with. But I am thinking I will need an OME spring spacer or two on the rear.
If I measure the existing springs as they are still installed could I figure out what spacers I require ahead of time or is this something that you have to do on the day of the install?

Second question is regarding the OME LTR shocks.

These are 2nd hand and are in great shape except for some minor pitting
on the top couple of inches of one rear shock absorber shaft. I don’t think this will be a problem and affect the seal. I was figuring on running them and if it starts to leak rebuild it then. Is this a problem with this approach aside from the obvious of an additional re & re at a later date?

Thanks for any advice.

If the springs still have the tags on them, you will find them labeld PS and DS for Passenger and Driver respectively. Make sure you mount them the right way up!

As for the shocks, they are gas charged, and the majority of shock wear comes not from oil leakage but from gas leakage IMHO. Unfortunately, other than a difference when hand cycling them (the feel) I don't know what to tell you. I guess you could compare them to a pair from the shelf.

No tags on the springs. Got them from the same guy as the LTR shocks.

Right way up?
