I have a 85 ford f350 4x4 that i use to tow with. The cab is basically crap and has major wiring issues(tries to catch on fire when you turn the headlights on) etc. I am looking for a cab to replace the one that I have. My question is this what cabs witl bolt directly to what I have(year range). I am thinking that it would be easier to swap the cab out than to replace/repair all that is wrong with it and plus maybe get some upgrades like power window door locks etc. It origianlly came with a diesel that is long gone. I swapped in a carbed 460 and manual trans. Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks
Jim

80-86 are a direct bolt on as long as it's carbed and not FI. 85-86 came with both carb and FI.

87-96 will also bolt on but the dash is obviously different and the wiring is going to be different because they were all fuel injected. The speedo also went from cable driven to VSS (electronic).

Up to 97 F250 cabs have the same body style as well, but once again totally different dash and wiring as 80-86.
